
Salma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jamesenez , on September 2, 1966, is an American and Mexican actress and producer. Her professional career began in Mexico in the telenovela Teresa, in which she was a lead in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), which was a huge success and earned her an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood with appearances in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) as well as Dogma (1999). Hayek's role as Frida Kahlo as a painter in Frida (2002) which was a biographical film she produced which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[6]. She also received her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award as well as British Academy Film Award nominations. The following years, Hayek focused more on making films, while also starring in action-oriented films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico
