Ruth Roman
Ruth Roman, 75, who was famous for her electric combination of sexiness, purity and stardom during the 1950s and 1940s of Hollywood, passed away on Thursday in her Laguna Beach, Calif. house. The actress died peacefully at home, according to her son Richard Hall. Warner Brothers offered her nine starring roles within two years after her first performance in Stanley Kramer's "Champion The Champion,' a novelized 1949 version by Ring Lardner of a maniacal fighter short story. In less than a day she was able to go from playing alongside Bette in "Beyond The Forest' to starring alongside Milton Berle for 'Always Keep Them Laughing'. After having a part in 'Strangers of a Train, opposite Robert Walker she was recruited to join Steve Cochran on 'Tomorrow's Another Day.
